DmC: Devil May Cry demo announce accompanies NYCC trailer

DmC fans and detractors, here’s a smorgasbord of news from New York Comic Con to drool or rage over.

During a panel at NYCC, as reported by Joystiq, producer Alex Jones confirmed that DmC will spawn a console demo before launch. As the Ninja Theory-developed game has been the subject of much controversy among fans for its bold directional shifts, the chance to check out the taster will be much appreciated.

One other new detail came out of the panel; the new game features the return of original antagonist Mundus. Otherwise, Capcom and Ninja Theory reiterated frame rate and story details from Tokyo Game Show.

Capcom also released a new trailer to mark the occasion; check it out below.

DmC is expected in January 2013 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a PC release to follow.

Ninjas Theory always develops great games. The empathy they imbue for the protagonist is second-to-none as is their combat. Looking forward to it.

Without the inclusion of Ninja Theory I wouldn’t be getting this game as I was never really into the series, but this re-envisioning looks absolutely fantastic, I just hope after this game Ninja Theory will make a sequel to Heavenly Sword!

this is why i love videogames!!! day one for me.
this is insane over the top action. love the DmC gameplay. this is one of those games that are still games, great gameplay first AND a great story AND fantastic artdesign.

kid dante:
“good…i finally got your attention”

hah! in the nero based DmC 4 he said to a boss when he was finally playable: “i thought i would never get any attention here” or something like that…

nice joke.

this reminds me, btw:
has anyone realised that there is a solid snake joke in DmC 4? there´s a guy in the chappel, right in the beginning wearing a hoodie like all the others and having a grey moustache. definiteley looks like snake but you only see him for a second or two. then, when hell breaks lose, he flees like a baby and stumbles and falls…very japanese humour. then you can see him again -in fear- later in the game, again just for seconds. but it IS snake. the moustache is iconic. it´s not marios beard for sure. i love things like that.
