I’m really curious about this game, hopefully some videogame websites actually do their job for once and review smaller titles too.

There’s a few European reviews up, some favourable, others not so much.

From what i heard is that the graphics are very nice but all else is really hit or miss.

I hear that they over-use the word ‘fuck’ and how forced and annoying it is. It doesn’t surprise me, this dev is not known for its great games.

    Oh… do shut up.

What would you want them to do, be all po-faced, emo, and pseudo-intellectual? Frankly, I’ll take the overuse of the word ‘fuck’ over most of the fantasy tripe that’s been force-fed to us over the years. Oh no, that goblin said ‘fuck,’ GASP. Be still my virgin ears.

There’s much, much worse. Like the writing of the original Dragon Age, for example. Which has all the po-facedness, pseudo-intellectuality, and emo that you could hope for. Gods damn, I hated that game, and yet people fetishise it and put down the likes of this.

Dragon Age was so great, wasn’t it? How quickly we forget.

Oh no. Life is so hard. That person didn’t survive the blood. Let’s be emo for a few minutes. Now let’s forget about that. Now let’s pretend we have politics but do it really badly and in the most shallow way possible. Now let’s go spend years down in the fucking dwarf tunnels!

Compared to Dragon Age, Of Orcs and Men is Hamlet. It’s actually quite well written and delivered despite the odd use of the word fuck (oh be still my virgin ears).

I’ve had a blast with it, thus far.

But hey, it’s an original concept. It isn’t about a human overcompensating by stabbing his gigantic mansword into some dragon or other, as some kind of weird sexual empowerment that’s denied by everyone you bring it up with. Noap, it’s not that. It’s actually something that’s a bit fucking interesting.

And of course it’s going to flop, because it’s not familiar enough, and because (OH MY GOD) it uses the word fuck.

In short – this is a great game and it deserves to do well. No, it’s not another Dragon Age, yes, the word fuck exists in it. Give it a chance. Don’t be so small-minded.
