Halo 4 launch trailer produced by Fight Club director

Not content with the most expensive live action promotion Microsoft has ever backed, Halo 4 will also have a launch trailer from one of cult cinema's favourite talents.

Coming Soon reports David Fincher will produce the shooter's launch trailer; he's best known for his directorial work on such delights as Alien 3, Seven, Fight Club and The Social Network.

Tim Miller, a visual effects expert who worked on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World as well as alongside Fincher on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, will direct.

The pair are pretty excited about their forthcoming, two-minute collaboration, with Miller praising Halo as "one of the most iconic sci-fi universes, with a depth that allows for amazingly cinematic and emotionally riveting stories" and Finchner expressing a bit of bromance for Miller as being "at the visual and technical forefront of hybridised live-action/CGI – not only pushing the boundary but defining it".

The trailer, which is called Scanned, will debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on October 18 before appearing on YouTube and Halo Waypoint.

Halo 4 launches on November 6 exclusively for Xbox 360.
