World of Warcraft exploit leaves entire cities dead

World of Warcraft was struck by an alarming exploit this weekend, with whole cities of both NPCs and player characters struck instantly dead.

You can see the so-called “city exploit” in action below as a first level Priest tackles the entire population of Stormwind.

Blizzard was quick to issue a hotfix but is still looking to dish out punishment to the source of the malady.

“As with any exploit, we are taking this disruptive action very seriously and conducting a thorough investigation. If you have information relating to this incident, please email hacks@blizzard.com,” a community mamanger requested.

“We apologize for the inconvenience some of you experienced as a result of this and appreciate your understanding.”

Thanks, Joystiq.

Hahahaha.

Really would like to know how this is being done. It’s been way too long since something this awesome and ridiculous happened in WoW.

@1 This is obviously a hack, so it’s not awesome. In the past it was just bugs that made it awesome, like the blood plague from ZG, the Death Knight Frost Fever, etc. This guy is definitely using some sort of middle-ware to kill people.
