Firefall progression system overhauled to allow specialisation

Red 5 recently rejigged Firefall’s progression system, switching up a previously linear system to something a little more flexible. The new skill trees allow players to specialise and diversify, which should mean players at every tier can create something pretty powerful with any battleframe at their command. Lead class designer Daniel Williams goes into some detail on the philosophy behind the change in a new blog post; check it out or just jump into game to test it yourself. Firefall is in rolling closed beta; get on board here.

Thanks, Massively.

And until they get a European server up I’m not interested.

I’m not abundantly convinced that the battleframe system is good.

You spend a lot of time and effort kitting out a Tier 1 frame, and as soon as the frame is done you move up to Tier 2, and you’re back to being a total weakling again, and the amount of xp you need to just get back to where you were is insane.

Personally I’m not playing again until they have an EU server and a system to find/join squads.
