Resident Evil 6 - Capcom offers PS3 issues workaround

Resident Evil 6 on PlayStation 3 is suffering some launch jitters, whereby jitters I mean "may not boot up at all". Capcom is toiling away on a solution and has provided a temporary work around.

According to a statement supplied to IGN, the issue is restricted to the version of Resident Evil 6 pre-loaded from the PlayStation Store. Having applied the day one patch, some users received an error meesage, and have been unable to load up the game after that.

Capcom advises that those who saw the error message should unintall and reinstall Resident Evil 6; there will be no patch prompt, and the game should load as normal. Unfortunately, even after this fix there will be some issues, as you won't be able to play with those using the disc version until the next update.

"We are working with SCEE to fix this issue and a patch is imminent," the publisher said.

"Please note that those people who downloaded the game from the PSN store originally won’t be able to access RE.net at this time, but this will be fixed by the imminent patch. We will keep people updated as soon as we know more and thank them for their patience."

Resident Evil 6 is available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and has received mixed reviews.
