New iPad model to debut this month - rumour

Apple rumours are a dime a dozen so let's do this quickly: "multiple sources" have told an unnamed "major Apple investor" that invitations are soon to go out for the debut of the long-rumoured iPad Mini. The investor told Fortune that invitations will be mailed out on October 10, meaning the event itself is likely to be about one week after that, with a product launch hot on its heels. The iPad has seen two major revisions and sold like hotcakes since its launch in 2010 and speculators have long expected a more compact version to appear.
