Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will support 1080p, 5.1 sound

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate lives up to its name by being the fanciest version of the apparently immortal third entry in the series.

According to Famitsu, via Gematsu, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will run in 1080p and support 5.1 channel sound - the most hi-fi the series has gone to date.

While most of the other details released today were revealed at TGS, the magazine explained that the Wii U Game Pad and bottom screen of the 3DS perform the same in-game functions.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate arrives on 3DS and Wii U in March 2013. The 3DS version won't have online play, but the Wii U version will use Nintendo Network servers rather than third-party efforts like previous Monster Hunter games, and by downloading a free app you'll be able to transfer your progress from one system to another.
