Bethesda has announced Battlecry Studios, a new development studio in Austin, Texas which will be headed up by SWTOR’s former executive producer, Rich Vogel.

Vogel’s previous developer credits include Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies among others in his 20+ years in game development.

“I have always admired and respected Bethesda’s approach to making great, original games,” said Vogel. “It’s a belief and passion I share, and I’m looking forward to building a team of high quality developers who want to bring that same commitment and creative energy to the games we’ll be creating.”

Battlecry is the second ZeniMax studio located in Austin, joining Arkane Studios.

The new studio is currently hiring experienced game developers to fill key roles for an unannounced project. You can apply here.

Looks like a F2P MMO of some sort to me. But evidently, only time will tell.

They better have the core team from Fallout 3/Skyrim working on Fallout 4 currently! :)

Oh no they don’t! They butchered the Fallout series with Fallout 3.
Don’t get me wrong, Fallout 3 was a great game, no question. But it was one of the worst in the Fallout franchise.
First of all it didn’t keep the core gameplay that was present in the first 2. You can’t just create a game in a different genre, from another studio, and then slap the title on and it becomes a part of the series.
The only thing Fallout about Fallout 3 is the inclusion of the Pipboy and the SPECIAL stat system.
Now if the studio is working on a new IP that is really new, and has nothing to do with any exisiting IP, then sure let them have their fun, because yes the devs behind Fallout 3 are talented. Just not with keeping true to a series.

Yeah i know Bethesda bought the Fallout license when Black Isle studios went bankrupt, but i still liked the 2 new Fallout games aswell.

They did a good job even with the bugs and kinda empty world sometimes etc…they can still improve a lot.

Here’s an idea as to what I think they might be working on, Prey 2. Seeing as how Human Head quit working on it almost a year ago, and nothing new has come up on it (other than it being removed from Bethesda’s coming soon page, and the contract dispute with Human Head that caused the work stoppage).
