Nintendo Direct promotes New Super Mario Bros 2 DLC

Nintendo of Japan released a short Nintendo Direct presentation today, detailing new add-on content for New Super Mario Bros 2.

You can watch the presentation below if you like, but it's in Japanese. Nintendo of America told IGN that an English version will follow "shortly", which may mean tomorrow. The content is expected to be identical bar local timing and pricing.

Kotaku reports the three featured packs arrive in Japan on October 2, and are all coin rush add-ons:

  • Ippatsu Shoubu de Dokidoki Pack (very difficult course)
  • Gold Mario Go! Go! Go! Pack (try and get 30,000 coins)
  • Kiroku ni Challenge! A Pack (get as many coins as possible)

Unusually, this Nintendo Direct wasn't widely announced in advance; Nintendo only gave a few days notice on its Wii U reveal, but has otherwise been careful to ensure fans had plenty of warning to catch the presentations.
