Call of Duty Elite makeover in progress for launch of Black Ops 2

Thursday, 27th September 2012 15:28 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Call of Duty Elite is getting a makeover by Beachhead in anticipation of Black Ops 2′s launch.

A new menu, revamped navigation, news and events updates, and more are all included.

Here’s more details which Poloygon pulled from the FAQ:

  • CAREER info has been separated by game and can be found under each game title header in the menu. Here you can check out your Career Summary and Recent Matches, tweak your Custom Classes, track Challenges and Leaderboards, and view your Weapon Performance.
  • CONNECT is now called Clan HQ. Clan HQ shows all your Clan stats, including Clan Competitions, Rewards, and Clan XP.
  • COMPETE has been changed to Competitions, and displays Events, Clan Challenges, Clan Operations, and Lone Wolf Operations.
  • IMPROVE links are now located under each game title header in the menu, and breaks down Maps, Weapons and Lethal/Tactical items, Attachments and Proficiencies, Perks, Strike Packages, Deathstreaks, and Game Modes.
  • My HQ is your hub for finding Game Summaries, the Vault, Recent Badges, and your Feed, which includes Notifications and Invites.
  • ELITE TV remains ELITE TV, with Theater mode accessed by clicking the filter in the upper-left portion of the screen.

Black Ops 2 lands on PC. PS3, and Xbox 360 on November 13 and the Wii U version is out later in the year.

its definitive not worth it… you have stats in game, you can add people to your friendlist in ps3/x360.. you can make your own clan on other free sites. the map packs you get anyway if you wait a bit and even cheaper..

@1 if you’re an avid CoD player I say get it for the maps alone. If you’re not you should probably pass.

i remember the queue at tesco last yr, people trying to sell elite, i still think if they just made the map packs like tracks in Rock band and each time a new game comes along, even a small fee, let you export the maps to the next game, obviously mw- mw2-mw3 and bo1-bo2. That would actually make me buy map packs as they just arent used once the new game comes out.

i feel like the first year of elite for mw3 was JUST worth the money. Besides getting the map packs included, there is nothing else worth of value. the clan ops system was a joke, and even though they said there would be tournaments for all skill levels, it was still just the people who could either play for 24 hours straight, boost with other players, or the insainly skilled people who won. I have fully switched over to PC and BF3, but if i was still getting BO2, i would NOT get elite.
