Duke Nukem creators 3D Realms return with FPS ‘Earth No More’

3D Realms has been silent since Duke Nukem Forever caused the studio to come apart at the seams. But now the team is back with a Earth No More, a new FPS on just-opened crowd funding portal Gambitious.

Earth No More’s Gambitious page can be found here. Although the funding process has not yet begun, you can follow the page for when the campaign begins.

The game’s descriptor reads, “Mankind’s relentless destruction of Earth awakens a biological response from deep within the planet’s crust that threatens an environmental apocalypse.”

Eurogamer reports that 3D Realms is co-developer on the project and that it is siding with a mystery studio.

Earth No More was initially planned for a 2009 released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 but fell by was choked on the vapourware fumes of Duke Nukem Forever. It’s back and we’ll know more about it soon.

Are you happy to see 3D Realms back in the saddle? Let us know below.

Maybe Gearbox are holding their hands through this one?

I dunno what they’re hoping for here, their track record on releasing games hasn’t been great for the last decade…

Holy hell, I remember this game. “Earth No More” was mentioned / teased a long time ago. 2007-2008-ish if I’m not mistaken.

So looking at a realistic schedule from you guys we can expect this to be out by what… Holiday 2018 and be backwards compatible with the Atari?

What took them so long to come up with an idea of a kickstarter scam?

Ah, yeah, another 3D Realms as producers fail. Just like Max Payne 1 & 2 and Prey. Oh wait. They didn’t fail at all, did they?

Edit: And it’s also kinda baffling how nobody remembers that the developers are Recoil Games.

I’m happy that George Broussard isn’t there anymore.

I don’t see why the studio has to take the blame for one guy’s madness.

Going on the not-Kickstarter websites isn’t going to do them any good though. I don’t think these sites see the same kind of traffic.
