The Secret World offers free three-day trial

The Secret World wants you to join its conspiracy-raddled ranks. Try the MMORPG for free for three days, any time you like.

Rather than offer a free weekend, Funcom has decided to just grant new registrants three days to check out The Secret World at no cost, starting whenever they care to sign up. It's a good chance for those who work or are otherwise busy on weekends to have a crack.

Interestingly, although the trial is nominally three days long, you can actually extend your sojourn; if you complete 30 missions, another two days will be added to your trial, and you'll also net 1200 points for the in-game store - about $10 worth.

Moreover, if you make it all the way through to the end of the first dungeon, the Polaris, you'll score the Whispering Demon Ring, which grants an XP bonus.

The Secret World sold just 200,000 copies which resulted in significant staff cuts at Funcom, but the MMO is now making a stable profit and monthly content update plans are expected to go ahead.

Thanks, Massively.
