SWTOR update 1.4 will contain moods, Group Finder teleport back, more

SWTOR update 1.4 will contain some new elements for players when it launches such as moods, the ability to teleport back from whence you came after using Group Finder to complete a mission, and more.

With Group Finder Teleport Back, when players leave the Flashpoint, they will be offered a teleport back to the location they were adventuring at – but it comes with a caveat: you will have to have killed at least one boss in that Flashpoint or hit a significant checkpoint.

Delayed Binding will be addressed as well. Bind on Pickup and Bind on Legacy items will now have a 2 hour limit in which they can be exchanged, and if a loot item, players can freely give the item to any party member who was in on the kill and therefore eligible to loot the item. Also, if something is purchased from a commendation vendor, within 2 hours the item can be returned to any vendor with a full refund.

Moods will also be implemented in update 1.4, so players can see you walk around with various facial expression. Alarmed, cheery, and others will set the character’s facial expression permanently.

Companion customization improvements are also in the way, which will allow color changes and the ability to hide helmets on companion toons.

More information is available through the official website.

Seems like they’re taking a page out of the Champions Online book for roleplaying, which is really not a bad game to take pages from if you’re looking to make your roleplaying audience happy. (CO was a roleplayer’s paradise.)

Man, I still can’t forget when Cryptic trolled the community by temporarily (for a day) changing the ‘pleasant’ mood to… well. I don’t know if I could find a picture of it any more, but it was just this guy with a broad, open-mouthed grin. It was the most awesome thing ever.

…and nope. It’s gone. But imagine a Garry’s Mod-esque open mouthed grin. Stuck frozen on a superhero’s face, annnnd you’re kind of getting there in regards to the horrors of this. There were about a billion threads to change it back. Oh, those were fun days.

When I first read the header, I thought it might of been a typo of mods,
then I read that they’re actually bringing in moods for your character.

Ah yes. I remember those days. Saying in any forum that you might need a LFG tool for SWTOR, maybe similar to WoW and getting flamed for it or told you have no friends whatsoever. And look at it now, the WoW LFG is here and happily accepted by the community. I wonder though, did it destroy, murder and ruin the community as prophesied?

And yeah, don’t come with the “WoW did not have it either at start.” Since the game is compared to WoW “now” and not back then. If you would always compare games to older games, well, yeah, of course the graphics are better than Pong.
