Monster Hunter 4 dated for Japan

Monster Hunter 4 will arrive in Japan just a few months after the ultimate version of its immediate precursor.

The 3DS exclusive will launch in Japan in March, Capcom announced at the Tokyo Game Show.

The news follows the release of a trailer for the action RPG.

Monster Hunter 4 is the long-awaited successor to Monster Hunter 3, which has released in a boggling number of versions and formats since its Wii debut in 2009. Although wildly popular in Japan, and with a fanatical cult following in the west, it has bene only patchily localised.

The latest version, Ultimate, will come west on both 3DS and Wii U before the end of the year. No word on a similar treatment for the fourth entry yet.

Thanks, Gematsu.
