Level-5's American studio wants to make its own games

Level-5 International America is the studio's western site, and it is currently working on localisation for Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. However, the developer has expressed a desire to make its own IP in a new interview.

Speaking with Siliconera - by way of Joystiq - International America's CEO Akihiro Hino stated, Our US office mainly works to efficiently release the Japanese titles that Level-5 has created overseas and they are involved in production and distribution in the overseas territories."

"In the future, we would potentially like to develop title overseas where Level-5 International America is taking the lead on developing for the overseas market." Joystiq rightly points out that Level-5's overseas sales are booming thanks to the Professor Layton series, among others, so we're not sure if the Japanese team needs much more help.

But it would still be nice to see what they can do. What do you think?
