DMC TGS trailer and screens show off Dante’s Eyrx fist weapon

DMC was shown off extensively at gamescom, so you probably think you’ve seen enough. But this trailer and screenshots introduce Dante’s flaming fists of fury.

Okay, they’re not called that. The weapon is called Eyrx. The new assets were released to coincide with the Tokyo Game Show. Ninja Theory’s take on Devil May Cry arrives on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in January.

It just looks so barren…

It’s just you and 6 enemies over and over again…

I take it all the civilians are locked in their houses the whole time or appear in cut scenes only…

That’s the biggest problem that I wanted them to change with a reboot, the environment is so sterile.

Even with inception style shit going on, it looks completly dull…

@5

:)

I understand that and put up with it for 4 games…

It was fun for a time but was really hoping the reboot could have taken it in a new direction. This isn’t really a reboot, it’s a re-skin IMO…

I know that this is how most action brawlers work (god of War etc…)

But DMC was the worst for me when it came to beautiful lavish and gothic backdrops and virtually no interaction…

Was hoping they would take it in a more assassins creed style direction and develop the character a bit.

@7: From what we’ve seen so far and considering it’s Ninja Theory we’re talking about here, you can definitely expect character development.

The reason why there are no people on the streets is because Dante is not on the streets, he’s in Limbo. You might see silhouettes of normal people, but since they can’t enter Limbo, you ain’t going to see them.
