Yaiba is Keiji Inafune's zombie-themed TGS surprise

Keiji Inafune's Tokyo Game Show surprise has reportedly been outed; it's an all-new property called Yaiba.

According to early Famitsu leaks, as reported by Siliconera, Yaiba is "a new zombie game".

That's all the solid information we have at this point, with platforms still to be disclosed. Famitsu leaks tend to build in detail over the course of the day; we'll update here if anything further eventuates.

This won't be Inafune's first go-round with the undead; he was instrumental in the development of Dead Rising - so much so that the Canadian-built Dead Rising 2, release after his departure from Capcom, was bylined as "A Keiji Inafune game"

Inafune promised a surprise for the TGS last week; in the interim he's also announced a new mobile title. He's best known for his role as creator of Mega Man but has founded three independent companies since parting ways with Capcom, since when he's been a vocal critic of the traditional Japanese games industry.

The Tokyo Game Show kicks off next week.
