Final Fantasy 14 subscription fees to halt during Realm Reborn transition

Final Fantasy 14 will be free while Square Enix cranks out its massive overhaul, A Realm Reborn.

As detailed on the MMORPG's main blog, Lodestone, Square Enix will halt all billing on FF14 subscriptions at 11:59PM PDT on September 29.

After this cut off, you won't be able to register new accounts or redeem codes, and the bonuses for simultaneous FFXI and FFXIV subscriptions will cease. Current subscribers can continue playing for free until November 11, but character progress will not be saved after November 1.

Square Enix hasn't yet dated A Realm Reborn's launch but it will presumably not be too long after the game goes offline.

For details of the content included in A Realm Reborn read our Final Fantasy 14 25th anniversary event summary or watch the whole presentation.

Thanks, Massively.
