    Interesting points …

The display on the pad was a window on the full display. Perhaps possible to do with reduced memory costs. I.e. Gamepad screen is lower res than 720p, so window would maintain sharpness and avoid scaling issues.

They are using the stylus as input – which is interesting. Upside of resistive screen is that it is possible to use a simple stylus. Downside is eventually it affects the screen itself, requiring screen protectors and I’ve never found a screen protector I’m happy with. I.e. affected by bubbles or reduces clarity or sensitivity.

Game wise I’m not sure it’s a great example. What does the use of two screens actually add in gameplay terms? You can’t easily look at both and the precision required (and lack of visual feedback on main screen) means you’ll end up looking at the pad most of the time. Unless of course there is some asynchronous gameplay going on and other players can control the enemies with regular controllers? That would be a lot more interesting. The main player having a windowed view unless they look up provides some interesting possibilities too.

Yeah, a lot of those points haven’t really been answered by this video.

If you have to use the stylus, that stops you from using the pad at the same time unless you want crazy hand cramp.

If you use your fingers, fine(ish) control like this can’t be achieved.

Therefore it leads me to assume that the bottom pad will mainly be used for selecting things from your innvatory.

I hope im wrong, and people come up with better uses but that is a major problem and one that could have been solved with a multi touch screen.

Mind you, i never really had many problems with the DS so maybe it’ll work well in practice.

Im sure they have some kind of multi-player for this mode, they should have showed that
