New Super Mario Bros. U screens reveal Super Mario World influence

New Super Mario Bros. U may have the word ‘new’ in the title, but a fresh batch of screens from Nintendo show that the game’s stages closely follow some familiar levels from Super Mario World. Nostalgia fans can play ‘spot the reference’ below.

Do Mario games even have innovations these days, Or do they just recycle recycle recycle? Tell my 11 year old self one day the thought of another new Mario game would not interest him, he’d laugh in your face, then pretend to have a fit. He was a weird kid.

At best, it looks like something you’d download from the PSN or XBLA for $15.

@5 everything from nintendo looks like something you’d download from the PSN or XBLA for $15

@4 they recycle, recycle, recycle, it’s really sad actually, we could have some very good games from nintendo that to me is the father of all modern games

@3 yes, that would be something I would like to see, I’m sick of this “new” Super Mario thing

@2 So am I it seems
