Dust 514 beta keys: 1,000 up for grabs now!

Dust 514 beta keys! They work today! We have 1,000 to give away for the PS3-exclusive shooter, so get in quick to avoid disappointment.

UPDATE: We’re getting a lot of reports from US gamers saying the keys don’t work. We’re assuming the codes are EU-only, but we’re been told nothing about any region specifics by the people that organised the giveaway. We’ll get confirmation this morning. For now, assume that they only work in Europe.

To get your beta key – remember, Dust 514 is a PS3 exclusive – you need to enter in the box below. Enter your name and email address. You’re then required to tweet about the competition. Once that happens, your email address is sent to us. Provided we haven’t handed them all out, you’ll then be sent a beta code by email at some point today.

Merging with the world of EVE Online, Dust 514 is the first PS3 shooter to ever co-exist within a PC MMO. It’s full of magic and technical tricks even we don’t fully understand. We suspect CCP are wizards of some kind.

Dust 514 is an MMO shooter in which players battle for dominance over the sprawling game world. Everything counts, from capturing territories, amassing funds and working with players within EVE Online.

For example, if you’re trying to capture a facility in Dust 514 and the battle isn’t going so well, you can contact your friend in EVE Online for assistance from within your chat window.

The EVE player can then orbit around the planet you’re fighting on and launch an orbital strike on your enemies – all in real-time, not scripted and running across both games simultaneously.

Technicalities aside, Dust 514 is a solid shooter in the vein of Call of Duty, Halo and Battlefield. It’s got huge guns, mad action and crazy vehicle combat.

I’m a month an a half into the beta. Pity I have less time to play it. But I like Dust 514 a lot, the new integration with EVE Online is awesome.

It’s the best FPS exclusive title for consoles from a PC dev. It’s really great.

This is probably going to be the only title on the PS3 where i will invest a lot. I hope for the PC version in the future.

You guys actually liked it? I thought it was dreadful lol. Clunky, very bad graphics and weapons seemed to lack any originality. Must just be me, might give it another try and see if I can get into it though…

@5 – Can’t you just create a Twitter account? I’d say “just mail me and I’ll send you one,” but then I get about 500 emails begging for a code instead of just entering like everyone else.

So do not use that redeem page. Just go on PSN with your PS3 and redeem it.

Enter it on PSN guys, we were told they had to be entered on the Dust site, but we were given wrong information. These are PSN codes :) Hope this helps. let us know if they work, and sorry for the delay.

Dave and Pat, you should do these more often. This is a great feature for a community like ours. BETA KEYS, MOOOAAAR BETA KEYS. I’d fancy a TES Online one in the future.

I tried entering mine in the redeem code area under my account settings and once in the PSn Store. Neither places did anything but give me a warning that the code was already used or invalid. Thoughts? Was I supposed to do something else first? Sorry for the trouble.

I sent @27 a new code and he said it was duff again. No idea what’s going on there, because everyone else’s appears to be working fine. You need to input it in the Store, yeah?

Entered an old email address which is different to my Twitter account, will this affect anything? As it currently stands I replied as John 40 mins ago. It was a redemption around 410 or so from what I remember.

I’ve send a new code to everyone who mailed me saying their original didn’t work. I’ve asked whether or not they’re region-specific this morning. No one told us anything about them not working in the US, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if that was the reason.

I’ve just had a mail from a guy in Arizona that said his key didn’t work. It may well be that they don’t work in the US.

I have the same issue with it not working either. :-/ I am in the US (Wisconsin) as well. So I am guessing we don’t get to play as of yet. :( Unless you can get US codes as well??

I’ve added an update to the story. We’ll get it confirmed this morning, but it looks as though the keys are EU-only. We’re really sorry. We weren’t told anything about region-locking at all.

How long it takes to get that email? Just waanna know how long to wait to know that did I get or did I not to get betakey. It’s over 4 hours (I was some where at 707 entries) now and no email.
