Its obvious the amount of testing of how the game works with all the varying hardware,OS,configurations where the console has set specs and doesn’r change at all nor do the developers have to worry about what other software is running while the game is playing.

MS were supporting the very core of japanese console oriented industry and leading the way for indies on consoles at the time Sony were busy advertising the banana gamepad and going on about cell processors interconnecting TVs and microwaves. Unfortunately, that didn’t prevent many console genres from losing even more relevance and quality.

You have to have quite a tunnel vision to not notice all that.

Some people talking out their ass about console power need to be reminded that the most technically accomplished console game by a pretty large margin is the Witcher 2.

I’ve played the best the PS3 has to offer an nothing comes close to the opening scene where you walk through the siege camp. Take the best scenes in Uncharted (which are mostly matte backgrounds or elaborate skyboxes, with a tiny play area), but then make them fully explorable and interactive.

The PS3′s crippling memory segregation makes large-scale games very difficult to pull off which is why PS3 exclusives are so lavish but narrow in scope. Uncharted, Killzone, Heavy Rain, GoW. All pretty games, but incredibly restrictive.

I have played them, and visually they are good, but certainly not top-tier. That’s fine though, I’ll take physics, AI and scope over flashy visuals every time.

This game look really promissing… but I hope the Xbox logo had nothing to do with it… MGS was supposed to be a PS exclusive and rarely a Nintendo game once in a while, MicroSoft will just hold this masterpiece down…

I really like all consoles but I hate MS, again, I like the 360, it can do good things, but sadly MS just keep pulling it down and making crappy sequels… And shall we remember they killed the best 3rd party company that ever walked on earth?

I have it on PC so I have no idea what the hullabaloo is over the xbox version. Probably the best things in the game technically (for me) were the skeletal animations and character texturing. Character animation is incredibly fluid in the game, it’s like someone in the gaming industry finally realised the human spine doesn’t just have one pivot point somewhere near the rib cage and decided to give vertebrae a go. The skin textures are also incredibly life-like, people have pores and their scars don’t look drawn on. Geralt’s 100 year old battle scarred naked torso is a sight to behold let me tell you.

Of course people like Gadzooks has to turn this into a console war “Xbox iz better cuz Witcher 2 lookz better den Uncharted 2″ Apples & Oranges. Then you have Da Man consistently going off topic to attack both a certain machine & its users. We get it, Sony touched you in a naughty place- we don’t care that 4 of your consoles broke. Do you have any idea how many Xbox 360s people have been through? No? Then stop being a fucking hypocrite.

Back to topic: Really nice looking game so far. Would have preferred that they released it on PC as well though.

if this game is supposed to release next year, you’d think they’d be showing off footage from a console. Also, i do believe the ps3 can handle this game as is. Just look at the dam ground textures and rocks. It needs improving. Is it hard to make watery /mud ? they need to look at naughty dog. Im guessing their visit to naughty dog last year was to learn from the masters. As for the lighting, i saw the same looking light effects in Beyond: , so yes i excpect the ps3 game to look the same if not improved.

@85 its on my list Freedoms. I heard it was good but I feel it will require Heavy Rain or Journey emotional investment. I have to be in the mood for an RPG much less one with enthalling story and scope. I sunk over 150 hours into Dragons Dogma over the summer but was easy since its just a really fun “B” grade adventure. I’ll get to it..if my 3rd Xbox doesn’t break *sarcastically winks at Da Man*

Da Man is okay with Xbox being a poorly built machine, contrary to what Sdf soldiers want to think he just tends to point out stupidity of deluded customers.

And also I’m pissed at how cheap XBOX360′s build quality was, It gave me Red Ring of Death. It works and sounds like a dishwasher machine, when it reads discs in high speed, you’re always at the edge of your sit trying to find a safe cover in case it explodes in your face.
