Rise of the Triad rebuild looking grimdark in new screens

It's amazing how far graphics have come in a decade; check out how shiny the new Rise of the Triad is.

While Interceptor Entertainment is keen to stick to the same design principles as the 90's original - including the famously twisted level lay-outs - it's doing it in current-gen graphic style. As seen in the video and screenshots, and outlined in a developer blog, even reworking classic maps - in this case, Episode 2's The Room - is a lot of work.

On the subject of Rise of the Triad, head on over to YouTube if you'd like to see the Quakecon 2012 panel at which the shooter's surprise return was announced and discussed for a whole hour. The PC exclusive is expected this year.
