Gears of War: Judgment adds free-for-all multiplayer mode

Gears of War: Judgment will add a new PvP multiplayer mode to the mix.

According to OXM, we’ll hear more about Free-For-All in its next issue, but as the name suggests, it’s a solo you-against-everyone-else affair.

The mode is a bit of a departure for the series, which has had a strong co-operative element, and is famous for its influential PvE offering, Horde Mode.

Expect more details over the next month or so; People Can Fly’s Gears of War: Judgment arrives exclusive on Xbox 360 in March 2013.

“Wow, the always innovative and edgy games keeps getting new and interesting. I mean, free for all multiplayer? This is so new. What a forward looking game series.”

Seriously, addition of the oldest and simplest multiplayer mode to this game is considered big news!? Doom 1 and Quake say hi!

@2

It’s news for a title that didn’t support it. And I guess it’s big news for people who play the multiplayer.

It’s not about how many other games support it, it’s about this game adding it…

Kinda like Dead Space 3 announcing co-op (for better, or worse).

Did I really just have to explain that?

@3, Yes, of course you did. If Gears announced it was adding 12 race tracks and go-karts, there’d be dweebs acting all “Durr, dis been dun b4″.

How could it possibly seem reasonable to compare a stop-and-pop, third person shooter with twitch first person shooters??
