Counter-strike map copied in new Webzen title – report

Counter-strike’s de_dust2 map has apparently been reproduced in free-to-play shooter, Arctic Combat.

PC Gamer reports the Webzen-published title contains “a very close replica” of the famous map, making specific mention of choke points.

The Arctic Combat map, titled Sand Storm, can be seen in action in the video below – so you can make up your own mind. We’ve asked Valve for comment.

Webzen is a South Korean developer and publisher best known in recent years for a dispute with Red 5 Studios over Firefall. Arctic Combat, its first shooter, is in closed beta.

The arctic is mighty dry this time of year.

It’s like they took pieces from CoD 4 and slapped them together in a dollar-store fashion on a direct port of de_dust2. Still looks mildly entertaining though

LOOOOOOOL!!!

Looks like CoD4 on a CS map. Maybe both Valve and Acti should sue them for a billion dollars!

They could have at least tried to copy a less popular / known map. I mean, de_dust2!? Reallly?
