BF3: Armored Kill DLC release date locked, hits PS3 Premium first

Monday, 27th August 2012 03:30 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Battlefield 3′s Armored Kill expansion has finally settled on a solid release date on all platforms.

As detailed on the game’s website, Battlefield 3 Premium members will receive the content first, starting on September 4 with the PlayStation 3, before spreading to PC and Xbox 360 on September 11.

For those not yet signed up for DICE’s extra-special service, the wait’s a little longer. The general release for Armored Kill is September 18 on PS3, and September 25 for other platforms.

Armored Kill adds five new drivable vehicles – tanks, ATVs and mobile artillery – and 20 vehicle unlocks, as well as Death Valley, described as the largest map in the franchise’s history. It packs in a new Tank Superiority mode and allows you to spawn from a gunship. Another expansion is expected in December.

Looking forward to this one after passing on close quarters – not my cup of tea. Still don’t like the fact that there are four release dates for it. No wonder people are resentful about DLC.

Guild Wars 2 or Armored Kill? Guild Wars 2 or Armored Kill? What to do? What to do?

Dice and EA are really pushing their luck, so Xbox and PC premium members are lower than PS3′s?

@4, I’m fairly sure Activision Blizzard practice the same with Call of Duty ELITE, where 360 ELITE members receive new content prior to PS3 members.

Sucks, but what’s another week of waiting?

Okay, I just registered here to post a comment.

Death Valley will not be the biggest map, its BAndhar Desert.
Death Valley is a night map with flyable vehicles and Alborz Mountain is a snow map. A lot of variety.
    Please correct the post.
