Metroplex and Grimlock were both sights to be seen. On the PC, with the higher resolutions and textures, this is quite the sight to see. It was a blast watching Metroplex do what Metroplex does. Also, I’m quite enjoying the banter.

This is one thing that continues to surprise me, as it did with War for Cybertron. The dialogue is actually really good. The banter and the representations of the characters are top-notch. Most first/third-person shooters could learn so, so, so much from High Moon when it comes to writing believable characters.

I find these guys so much more interesting than the beefcakes of titles like Gears of War. Perhaps it’s the humour and that they actually seem to be living creatures. And because they’re robots, High Moon can get away with showing some of the horrors of the theatre of war. The Med Bay is something that really stuck in my mind.

Usually, when humans are being represented, it seems like developers don’t have the balls to actually pull anything. Too terrified of the backlash. So instead they go for base spectacle like No Russian. It’s incredibly disappointing. But using robots, High Moon have been up to things, here. You should see it for yourself.

I plan to if GAME ever deliver my copy with the must-own G1 pack…

I’m going to be hugely disappointed if it doesn’t get here before I leave. I have a lot of other games to play this bank holiday weekend but this is really the one I have been most excited for. Over GW2, Darksiders 2 and Sleeping Dogs.

From the demo it definitely seemed like they went more G1 than anything and I think that’s the right direction. The first couple of seasons and the original movie is the best of Transformers for me, the later seasons took bit of a dive and I didn’t feel like much else matched those glory days.
