Diablo 3 patch 1.04: Blizzard addresses unbalancing concerns

Diablo 3 patch 1.04 will give players the ability to overpower their characters by augmenting them with 100 new Paragon levels, enhanced buffs and gear, and much more. Blizzard’s game director Jay Wilson has explained why making players overpowered isn’t an issue.

In a PC Gamer interview, Wilson stated, “Diablo is a very different game than World of Warcraft or StarCraft 2. It’s a lot more of the player against the world, and a lot of the goal of the game is to make sure that the player feels awesome.”

“So, as a game,” Wilson continued, “we’re a lot less concerned that the player be perfectly balanced against the environment. We’re kind of okay if the players run roughshod over the monsters. We don’t want the game to be unchallenging, but, you know, being a little overpowered is kinda what Diablo’s always been about.”

Wilson also admitted that Paragon levels probably will lead to areas that will need nerfed or buffed up further after launch, but stressed that the ability to tweak is the beauty of a PC game like Diablo 3.

There are many changes coming with Diablo 3 patch 1.04. Read all about them here.

Well sounds to me like there will soon(ishly) be a widely acclaimed and loved “content” Patch for the game, where blizzards wraps into shiny paper, that they add a new difficulty level, that you can only enter with paragon…. 50, 60, 100?
Here the “real” game starts as all the monsters are terribly powerfull and only the elite of the elite of the elite will ever be able to reach diablo there. And only the very, very, very, very top player, the one who has no equal and is the most powerfull and skilled gamer of all time, will actually have a slight chance beat Diablo on this setting.

People will cheer and scream, faint infront of their screens and name their babies after Blizzard for this innovative and ground breaking idea.

By the time players reached paragon 50, that would be 6 months from now already, perhaps, time for a new content or dungeon to explore with. Something most Diablo fans are clamoring for:

Not bad if you’ll ask me.
