Special Forces: Team X, a PC game in development at Zombie Studios, has been announced as a downloadable release for fall.

The title will be in collaboration with Microprose and Atari.

Special Forces: Team X is a “stylized, team-centric third-person shooter,” according to the product description, where elite squads of Special Forces operatives will have a go at one another.

It will contain a “dynamic tile map system,” which will allow for over 100 battlefield combinations based on player voting.

PAX Prime attendees will get a preview of Special Forces: Team X next week.

Special Forces: Team X, as noted previously, is out in the fall.

Have a trailer below. Thanks, Joystiq.

God, this industry is getting so dull.

Not really though, is it. It’s not like the industry consists solely of FPS games.

@2 It might as well at this rate.

Anyway, this is a third person shooter. Little difference though, it’s still contrived, uninspired and dull.

@3, I just think you would have to ignore a lot of games to come to that conclusion. I think it’s an unfair judgement on the industry.

I will grant you that FPS and violent games (I guess) are given a lot more exposure than anything else but I still don’t think it’s a fair comment to say that’s all the industry has to offer.
