Rovio announce new Stockholm studio and an ex-Battlefield GM

Rovio continues to take over the world. The Angry Birds developer has kicked off Gamescom by announcing a new studio and general manager.

Ex-Battlefield Play4Free general manager Oskar Burman has joined the team, and will be based in the new Stockholm-based building.

"Super excited to let you know I'm the new GM of Rovio Stockholm, opening up shop today," said Burman.

"IMHO Rovio is one of the most exciting devs in the world, perfectly positioned for the future, [with] focus on digital, mobile, and thinking big." He continued, "Have to admit I was also growing tired of creating violent games. From now on I'll only inflict violence on cartoon pigs."

Rovio revealed it's, "delighted to welcome Oskar to the flock," and that he'll be "bringing Sweden's best talent together to work for the world's fastest growing and most innovative entertainment company."
