Facebook claims 230 million users played games in the last 30 days

Facebook has announced that 230 million users played games on the social network over the last 30 days - that's 25% of its user base.

In a video seminar hosted at Techcrunch, Doug Purdy, Facebook’s director of developer products explained the value of Facebook integration in games and the viability of the platform itself for gaming.

Purdy claimed that 230 million users had played games on Facebook over the last 30 days, and that 8 of the 10 top grossing iPhone apps include Facebook support. Purdy also explained that "plugging Facebook in" and integrating it into apps and services is the key to increasing the network's traffic and user base.
