Doom 3 BFG Edition screens escape Quakecon, look hellish

Doom 3 BFG Edition was showcased by id at Quakecon over the weekend, and to support the showing is a batch of grimy screenshots for your viewing pleasure. We also posted up a batch of Dishonored Quakecon screens earlier today.

Cool, my PC was a bit weedy for this BITD, should do a lot better on a big screen with a pair of Turtle Beach headphones clamped to my ears.

I remember this being an only-average game 8 years ago, clumsy, primitive, repetitive. I bet it’s ripened into a fully fledged bad game by now.

IMO Doom 3 was the absolute best game, maybe only in competition with WarCraft 3 for that title as of the first 5 years of the 2000′s. It had the best graphics i had ever seen, a smarter AI than most and none of that pesky regenning health. I hope this one is just as good, but i’ll guess i’ll have to wait and see :P

THey haven’t done anything to the game other than upscaling the resolution and improving the lighting system. The game play will be the same as it was when it released.
