The World of Warcraft is still very much alive according to Activision’s Bobby Kotick, following the announcement that the project has a new writer.

Variety reports that production company Legendary Entertainment remains enthusiastic about the World of Warcraft movie project, and that Charles Leavitt is now on board to write the script.

Leavitt’s previous scribes include K-Pax and Blood Diamond.

Elsewhere, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has said the movie is, “important to Blizzard, it’s important to me. They’re very excited about having a ‘World of Warcraft’ film. They’ve been very careful and thoughtful about the development process.”

Legendary Entertainment currently has a Mass Effect movie in the works.

What do you think of a World of Warcaft movie? Has interest waned or are you still pumped for it?
