Madden 13 has over 6,000 Kinect voice commands

Madden 13 developer EA Tiburon reckons the game is better with Kinect, and has discussed the implementation of voice commands in the game.

Speaking with Eurogamer, designer Victor Lugo explained why the studio wanted Kinect in Madden 13, "It can be confusing with the amount of options we put on the screen to navigate menus."

"We wanted to use very common language that people can understand to try to allow them to use these commands."

Lugo continued, "There are commands that we're loading directly into the game right now. What dynamic grammars do is take text and dynamically load it in, the name of the characters you have, your custom audibles and basically uses phonics to sound it out."

"If you type your name in there you can just say your name." Lugo explains, "If you put all your custom audibles in you'll be able to say them. All that adds up to the ability to add any play into the game and call out the name of any player, and that's over 6,000 commands."

Madden 13 is out on PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita and Wii August 28
