E3 2013 will take place in LA, ESA confirms

E3 will be staying put in the Los Angeles Convention Centre until at least 2015, the Entertainment Software Association has confirmed, quashing rumours that the venue may be changing in 2013.

In a statement, Michael D. Gallagher, CEO of the ESA said, “We are proud to partner with Los Angeles for another three years. The City serves as a strong backdrop for the video game industry’s biggest announcements and we look forward to remaining in LA.”

“Video games are a dominant force in the global entertainment marketplace,” Gallagher continued, “there is no better place to display that than Los Angeles. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the City and AEG.”

E3 2013 was rumoured to be switching venues due to construction of the $1.2 billion Farmers Field stadium, which would have seen part of the Los Angeles Convention Centre demolished.

Rumoured alternative venues were San Francisco, New York, Chicago and New Orleans.

E3 2013 will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Centre June 11-13.

Well LA is just amazing. I would check out Whole Foods stores when there. Better than Motel food!

I thought they would’ve moved it, seeing as how they’re losing part of the convention hall to a stadium. If they’re gonna continue there, they’ve gotta make some revamps to the show to more accurately display the diversity within the games industry (and by that, I mean they need to take other platforms outside of consoles and PC more seriously than they did at this past E3).
