Final Fantasy XIV video shows A Realm Reborn
Square has released The Fate of Eorzea, the first trailer for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, showcasing the redesign of the MMO.
Previously known as Version 2.0, A Realm Reborn has been rebuilt from the ground up, and centering on the core concept of rebirth, it features a new world to explore and storyline to experience.
“Since announcing our plans for the future of the title last October, we have been working tirelessly to include all of the elements that we have promised in FFXIV: A Realm Reborn, which we announced today,” said the game’s director and producer Naoki Yoshida.
“This new title not only becomes a symbol of a completely new FFXIV, but also marks the beginning of a new stage as the latest title in the Final Fanatsy series. I hope you’re looking forward to it.”
A new website for A Realm Reborn also went live today, featuring background information on the realm of Eorzea, its inhabitants, and the much larger world of Hydaelyn.
The website will also serve as the central location for regular updates and news about the game.
A Realm Reborn is slated for a November release

@1 – I remember there was an actual reason behind that, but I can’t remember why. I would guess now, it’s just that it’d be an almost 10 year old port.
