Borderlands 2 on-disc content complete, off to certification

Gearbox has gleefully announced that Borderlands 2 is, to all intents and purposes, done.

That doesn't mean the shooter RPG has gone gold yet; as detailed on the Gearboxity blog, the game is soon to be sent off for certification with platform holders.

The Gearbox team isn't sitting on its hands waiting for release day; it's about to kick into DLC gear. The first piece is the game's fifth class, the mechromancer, which will be offered two to three months after Borderlands 2's September launch on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The new class will be free to members of the Premiere Club; membership is as simple as pre-ordering Borderlands 2, and will convey other benefits including a couple of weapons, a key to obtain a rare item, and the Vault Hunter's Relic, which boosts luck in finding gear.
