Microsoft financials: 1.1M 360s shipped, XBL membership up 15%

Microsoft has announced revenues for its Xbox 360 division were $292 million for Q4 of FY12, which ended on June 30. This is a 20% increase compared to $1.7 million the prior year. For full-year 2012, the Entertainment and Devices Division grew 8%.

The growth was attributed to the addition of Skype to the division.

The firm shipped 1.1 million Xbox 360 consoles compared to 1.7 million during Q4 of fiscal year 2011, and membership in Xbox Live increased 15% year-over-year.

For the company as a whole, Q4 sales of $18.06 billion for the period ending June 30 were reported, up 4% over last year. Still, the firm reported a net loss of $492 million, or 6 cents per share for the quarter, which was in line with expectations.

For Microsoft’s fiscal year 2012, the company’s revenue came in at $18.06 billion.
