Torchlight II delayed for extensive balancing

Writing on the Runic Games forum, founder Travis Baldree offers an explanation of why Torchlight II – once expected well before Diablo III – is taking forever and a week to actually surface. It’s a detailed breakdown which essentially boils down to “it’s hard work to balance the acts of a dungeon crawler”. Well, we saw how long it took Blizzard, and the developer is still tweaking post-launch, so we’ll cut Runic some slack. Torchlight II is still expected sometime this year.

Thanks, Blue.

Hey Brenna, the game is still scheduled for an August 28 release on German Amazon… mmm

A delay announcement for a game that never had an official release date?

Anyhoo, I wanted this sooner rather than later, but oh well :*

Well, bought and paid for, just something to look forward to at this point. Not that big of a deal.

@6 Runic said themselves that unless they (Runic Games) give a release date on their website and / or forums, then it’s not correct.

He even specifically pointed to that listing and said “Pure speculation”.

The article heading is completely misleading.

The game hasn’t been delayed. They’re simply explaining why they’ve taken this long so far.
