Insomniac has posted new details on Ratchet & Clank: Q-Force, noting that first off, the game takes you back to the classic camera, weapons and third-person Ratchet gameplay, despite having a tower defense element to it.

Players will be tasked with defending their base against invasions using items from the Ratchet & Clank arsenal, such as hoverboots.

Players will choose between playing as Ratchet, Clank or Captain Qwark to confront an “alien army across five levels set on three different planets.” Co-op is also available in split-screen or online should you want to try and best these miscreants with a pal.

Q-Force also includes an online mode to be revealed later, as well as “loads of upgrades, extra character skins and unlockable content.”

The first screenshots of the game and more information can be obtained through the PS Blog.

The game is out in the fall through PSN and known in the US as Full Frontal Assault.

Man why can’t they just make another normal R&C game? And I don’t mean like any of that Future crap either, I mean back to Up your Arsenal and Going Commando. The dark humour really did it for me and when they made R&C childish on PS3, it wasn’t the same for me.
