Battlefield 4 confirmed by EA, beta coming “fall 2013″

EA has confirmed that Battlefield 4 is real, and that you can gain access to its beta through the MoH: Warfighter pre-order scheme.

The Battlefield 4 beta will take place in “fall 2013.” EA added: “Additional details regarding Battlefield 4 will be revealed at a later date.”

The game is mentioned on the Medal of Honor site, and in a new multiplayer movie, as you can see below.

You can find to Warfighter pre-order page here. The game ships on October 26 for PS3, 360 and PC.

The timing appears to suggest the game will ship in late 2013: the expected launch timing for next-gen consoles.

Frank Gibeau, president of EA Labels, described the pairing of Battlefield and Medal of Honor as “a one-two punch of action, intensity and shooter entertainment.”

The news comes after the game was accidentally outed on Origin at the weekend through the same promotion.

Battlefield 3, the latest in the series from Sweden-based EA DICE, launched at the end of 2011 to great success. EA shipped 10 million units of the shooter in its first week on sale, 3 million of which were pre-orders.

More than 5 million copies of Battlefield 3 were sold in the first week after launch, making it the fastest selling game in EA’s history.

I thought at least it will be Bad Company 3, 2143 or something different then strait up sequel!

@1, Yeah, i thought about that too.

I hope that Battlefield 4 or whatever will have the name but the general setting will be changed.

@1 – Same thing here, but… I still have some hope. Maybe we will get different setting (maybe futuristic), but the name won’t be much different. Maybe EA want it to be just “Battlefield” plus some number :P

In recent interview some guy from DICE said that “there are too many modern setting shooters”… And now they’re doing BF4, another “modern” FPS? Hard to believe that…

Personally, I’d love to get back to World War II. Imagine – the biggest WWII shooter ever created. Multiplayer maps from every front – Eastern front, Pacific, western Europe, Africa. All that on improved Frostbite 2.0… <3

But, yeah, if we'll just get another modern Battlefield, I'll pass.

I won’t pass, but i hope for Battlefield 214(4) in futuristic setting like they already did before.

Futuristic stuff was amazing especially with their mechs.

A lot of people bought the last MoH primarily for the BF3 beta access, what did they get? Like 2 days early access?

I doubt many people will be enticed by this, especially for £50.

To me both games felt the same
@8 on xbox both games felt the same but i did put more hours into bad company 2 then bf3

Yeah I’d say this is the most likely option.
Be very interesting if there’s a new Battlefield and a new Call of Duty within a month or two of NG launch.

@Erth I know I love M&B especially Warband but the thing is I want it in Battlefield 3 level, with Catapults, bows, cross bows, long swords, spears, javelins, mounted fights, castle sieges… oh man when would I ever see that, I need a siege breaker right now.

What some people don’t seem to realise about about annual DLC is that most of the people who buy it will easily get way hours of gameplay out of it than most others would from an SP game…

AS has been already mirrored alot here BF3 more or less already was BC3. Most of the full on Battlefield things have been pushed to the side or straight out removed.
