Ubisoft apologises for Uplay downtime

Ubisoft's Uplay system, which acts as an always-on DRM for many of its PC games, went down overnight - right in prime PC gaming time, thanks to the Steam sales. A representative for the publisher has issued an apology for the inconvenience and said servers are back online - but not before the downtime generated 200 or so angry forum posts on the ever-popular subject of is-DRM-the-very-devil.
