Ubisoft apologises for Uplay downtime

Ubisoft’s Uplay system, which acts as an always-on DRM for many of its PC games, went down overnight – right in prime PC gaming time, thanks to the Steam sales. A representative for the publisher has issued an apology for the inconvenience and said servers are back online – but not before the downtime generated 200 or so angry forum posts on the ever-popular subject of is-DRM-the-very-devil.

It was down pretty much the entirety of Sunday.

I read a post on Ubisofts forums that hit the nail right on the head, Ubisoft: good at the part where they take the money, failure at providing the service.

I hear they’re renaming it to “Who Plays?” I certainly haven’t been playing any Ubisoft since GRAW and GRAW2 on PC, I think I’ve played Asassin’s Creed on 360 as well.
