Medal of Honor: Warfighter contains heat vision wall-hack
A few minutes of Medal of Honor: Warfighter multiplayer gameplay has leaked from the game’s alpha, as you can see below. It features a first look at heat vision, a Spec Ops ability similar to wall-hacking. MP1ST has also pieces together a ton of information on the alpha’s classes and weapons. Warfighter releases in late October.
And here’s another video showing in-chopper gameplay, gas masks and more (thanks, Gameranx)

FPS MP is so generic now I want to puke. The same old tired desert, industrial etc. maps with a lot of corridors/rooms and no real clever design, featured in every “realistic” shooter and that is just lame.
Absolutely nothing to make you do something different from running randomly or camping in some corner to find the opponents,no strategy involved most of the time. Total lack of some classic modes, now every thing is practically Team Deathmatch with some tucked on “objective”.

So let me get this straight! Someone thought putting a see through wall is a genius perk for a shooter game to have? Genius game design is genius.

That awkward feeling when you realize that the wallhack became a gameplay mechanic.

Yeah that could be a game breaker ( at least for me). There’s probably a countermeasure though.

I’ve shoved it into the slots and changed the headline.

Absolutely retarded. First Ghost Recon Future Soldier, then Halo 4 and Gears of War Judgment, now this.
Great games that used to have fun multiplayer, now ruined by fucking casual perks. Someone PLEASE spam their twitter and make petitions to remove this crap.

Second movie added there. Shows in the in-chopper stuff.

Well, the inclusion of a “legal wall-hack” could start an interesting controversy, but it shouldn’t be that much of a surprise now. Call of Duty and the other so-called modern FPSs are trying to sell a lot of copies on the market, and that means that the developers have to streamline all the mechanics and create something easy to master.
Basically they are serving us former cheating mechanics as perks, so that newcomers can have a chance to play against hardcore players and win on their skills.
This is the new FPS market policy: everybody must buy the game, “noobs” or not.

Well, the thing is that casuals play the game for a few hours then sell it. Hardcore fans buy their game and continue to support them by buying DLC and future games they make.
If they want to appeal to casuals they should find a better way than this.
If only CDProject made online shooters, would be a dream come true.

No difference between this and a UAV, to me…
I’m sure there’s a counter to it, so this is probably more of a way to find camping noobs.
Regardless, the game looks pants IMO. A complete mismatch of slow, low accuracy movement trying to do fast paced, twitch gameplay.
You can’t combine the two.

@11: I agree with you, but you should consider another perspective. When you develop a multi-platform game you have to keep in mind that a lot of console players will buy it. On consoles you won’t necessarily find your average hardcore PC audience, so it’s normal to build new mechanics created for newcomers, or maybe to adapt the controllers to the gameplay. You can’t think to the production of an FPS as you did 8 years ago, because today nobody will launch a game with the PC as core platform.
And i’m not saying that it’s good, i’m a seasoned FPS player too.

It won’t make it easier for casuals only though, they’ll end up being abused by it too. Ever since they started implementing UAV’s and audiospotting/minimap spotting, multiplayer hasn’t been the same for me for years.
Anyone remember Soldier of Fortune 2? Freaking awesome game on the Xbox back in the day.

^ Surely every semi decent FPS has a hardcore mode with no mini map, these days, though…?

Hardcore mode usually means you’ll have half the health you normally have, so it turns into a spray and pray fest. Remove health regen and add a decent amount of health (more than CoD atleast), and it would be a proper hardcore mode for me.

I liked the look of that myself. Hope they have a better gun selection for the different classes this time around.

I couldn’t even finish the videos, because it just bores me to shit. I am so done with War shooters really. It’s the same goddamn thing every year. Glad there’s still plenty of other genres.

Lol. You have to be kidding me. Please do some research before you post stories with such misleading titles. Especially ones that could deter gamers from purchasing a game. Its not a “legal wall hack” perk. Its called Heat Vision and its a special ability of the Spec Ops class. Once its used, it takes some time to recharge.

In addition to what #19 said, how can you judge a game based on ALPHA footage? You have to know that all features are subject to change here. On another note, i can’t believe VG247 is posting these videos here. There has to be some kind of law/rule they are breaking…

@19 – I’ve edited it for clarity. Thanks for your help!
@20 – If it’s out there, it’s out there. Both the videos have been pulled now.

Still, no matter how you twist and turn it, it is bad journalism. Very unprofessional. There are hardly any words written, it is basically just 2 embedded videos, showing of alpha footage which at the end of the day just shows it is an fps with 2 teams, since everything else can change rapidly this early in the development stage. At the end of the day, this piece of “news” was only uploaded because it generates traffic and ad money, rather than writing proper articles. I’m sorry if i offend you but i just get annoyed by this kind of stuff…

^ Your annoyed that a Videogame website reports on a link to leaked alpha footage of a videogame? That it uses terminology gamers understand?
Maybe your upset by some flagrant misinformation? *reads article* Oh their is none….
Not sure what your looking for here guy, but let’s face it, videogaming isn’t exactly a serious business y’know?

Proper and proper, i guess that is a relative term. They were lengthy yes. But come on. The game hinted at rape, while there are fully fledged games out there, such as RapeLay, where you actually play a man who’s objective IS to rape a woman AND her 2 daugthers. Was that mentioned? Nope. Was there a nightmare of press coverage when that was released? Nope. Does anyone care about it? Nope. But of course that little game was forgotten because it would have undermined the obvious opinion of the journalists here.

@19, whatever the hell they want to call it, a feature built into the game that allows a player to see through walls, even with limitations, is a legal wallhack.
How else can you describe that?

@26 – Not quite sure what your point is there. The issue with Tomb Raider was about the treatment of female characters in triple-A video games. I’d honestly forgotten RapeLay even existed. Not mentioning it had nothing to do with it undermining my opinion.
