Codemasters Racing announces F1 Race Stars

Codemasters Racing has announced a new family-friendly arcade game, titled F1 Race Stars. First screens and trailer through the break.

F1 Race Stars, a new arcade racer aimed at a family audience has today been announced by Codemasters Racing.

The likes of Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel have been shrunk and filled with cartoon charm to go head-to-head on exaggerated circuits featuring jumps, loop-the-loops and a range of power-ups.

The officially licensed racer features a host of F1 stars and teams to pit against one another in up to four-player split-screen action. Other modes include championship racing, time trials and online multiplayer.

F1 Race Stars launches this November for PC, PS3 and 360.

That has the potential to be brilliant. No Wii or WiiU SKU though? Isn’t that missing the primary demographic for a game like this?

Agree looks pretty good. I think the lack of Wii is because it’s an already well served demographic. If they get it out soon for WiiU then they could get in before the inevitable Mario Kart.

Wow, talk about a U-turn. A super hardcore and simulation like racing series moving into easy, happy family friendly territory. What’s next? PG porn?

We’re still developing our core F1 titles, in fact F1 2012 is due out this September.

Good to hear but this still feels like a really odd pairing.

I’d rather play the funky type of racing with friends, I’m not in that hardcore racing group. I get bored of them too easy.

Wii U isn’t in the initial announcement platform list, but we can see how F1 Race Stars could be an ideal fit for it. All I can say right now is watch this space!

No WiiU, no sale.

Does look good tho. Grabing it for PC could work in a pinch, on a sale. But really wanna play in WiiU.

It’s fine without WiiIU. My concern now is do I get this, littlebigplanet racing or the other cartoon racer that is coming put this fall.

Don’t suppose this and f1 2012 will be compatible with the new move wheel peripheral? This is a day one for me. Think it’s a great idea to get younger generations into a fantastic sport. quite surprised people want it on wii U. surely that console is just filler till the actual decent consoles come out?

Not a filler at all. Not for me. Next gen, I am planing on WiiU and PC. I am very VERY sick of MS grabing for my wallet everytime I turn around. And while set top boxes sound nice, no one has pulled it off yet, and tbh, I just want to play games. I have a PC for all of that other stuff.
