Green Man Gaming and Playfire join forces

Green Man Gaming, the British-based, trade-in friendly digital game store, has merged with gaming social network PlayFire.

GMG boss Paul Sulyok told Eurogamer that very little will change as a result of this merger for its customers. However, Playfire users will see some noticeable changes, with them being able to sign into GMG using their PlayFire accounts and vice-versa.

"We're going to be putting some more technical infrastructure behind Playfire in the short to medium term, and we're going to be extending the reach of Playfire, but we fully intend to run it and manage it as a separate part of the business," Sulyok said. "We're not going to be using it as an advertising platform."

Playfire is an social network for gamers, with over 1 million accounts. It enables them to track their gameplay across PlayStation Network, Steam, and Xbox Live, and also keep in touch with their friends, allowing them to see what they're playing and buying.
