Street Fighter x Tekken on-disc character DLC hits consoles July 31

Capcom has announced 12 additional characters for Street Fighter X Tekken, which were originally planned as a DLC release alongside the Vita version of the game, will release later this month.

The roster consists of Blanka, Sakura, Guy, Cody, Dudley, Elena, Jack, Bryan Fury, Alisa, Lars, Lei and Christie. Those who registered at EVO as a SFxT competitor at EVO will receive the 12 new characters for free.

“As for the PS Vita version, the 12 characters and alternate costumes for the core 38 characters will be available as free downloads,” said the firm. “The 12 new fighters have alt costumes available as a pre-order incentive at GameStop, Best Buy and Amazon, and all DLC purchased can be shared between PS3 and Vita.”

Capcom said it is aware that the 12 DLC characters “have been a contentious topic since they were discovered on the disc,” and while it can cite its reasons why the fighters were on the disc such as “compatibility for all players, save HD space, download bandwidth, etc,” in the end it had to “hear what the community had to say.”

“The dev teams are listening, and promise to incorporate that feedback into future titles – fighting or otherwise,” said Capcom.

A patch will also be released alongside the pack, with balancing affecting all characters.

Some of what is included in the patch is below:

  • Ryu, Ken and Akuma’s Tatsumaki Sempuu kyaku have all had their hitboxes reduced in size.
  • Rolento’s jabs addressed.
  • Xiaoyu’s crouching hard kick phoenix loops.
  • Raven crouching HP loops.
  • Auto-block gem has been re-balanced.

The 12-character DLC pack will be released on July 31 for 360 and PS3. It will run you 1600 MSP/$20.

If they were even slightly serious with their “we are sorry” issue they would make those character, that made such a ruckus ,for free for everyone.
But no… rip off the customers once more is their way of saying: “thanks for buying our game retards.”

“The dev teams are listening, and promise to incorporate that feedback into future titles – fighting or otherwise,”

They fucking better. This game was supposed to be huge. Instead they fucked fans and consumers alike, and their bullshit practises finally bit them in the ass, the game’s sales suffering as a result.

I’ve come to despise this company for the way they treat their customers. My purchase of DmC is going to hinge entirely on how they treat post release DLC. If they think they can keep getting away with ripping the final product apart for the sake of DLC, they can fuck off.

    Is Capcom fucking kidding?!

Please I urge you all not to patronize this blatant rip-off!
Rather than listen to the word of outraged fans all over the world, Capcom still insists on charging consumers. Only by us consumers coming together and resisting this shameless greed practised by capcom will they know that we cant be made fools of!

I will never ever pick up any Crapcom game ever!!!

I love how the title of this post mentions the “on-disc” part. I think this should become mandatory for all DLC posts so people can see which ones were already on the disks they paid for.
