Super Slim – FCC filing points to 4000 Series PS3
According to this FCC filing, Sony is working on a 4000 Series PlayStation 3.

The document could relate to a slimmer PS3, rumoured by Eurogamer to be announced at gamescom next month.
The current PS3 is the 3000 Series. The model mentioned in the filing is the CECH-4001x.
An included image appears to show the new console compared to the current model. It’s a great deal smaller, seemingly.

Rumour has it that it’ll feature a manual load disc drive and possibly a new type of storage.
Interesting that the bottom looks closer to the original PS3. No doubt this design will have an external power supply, though.

Looking forward to seeing how this one turns out. I was never particularly impressed with the first PS3 slim (it’s surprisingly large).

What does The Secret World has to do with this? Is this some kind of advertising or just a mistake?

Too many leaks from the likes of FFC & rating boards.

@8 Stuff has to get rated. The disclosure of that information is a legal requirement.

@9,
Disclosure is a requirement but not a public one.Its leaks like these that take the fizz out of events like e3 and gamescom.

I hope it gets an overall appearance change. I wasn’t that impressed by the slims and am much more content (and proud) of my big ol’ fatty
