Minecraft 1.3 to release on August 1

Mojang has announced Minecraft 1.3 will release on August 1. You can view the detailed and extensive changelog here on Reddit. Most notably, the update brings LAN support to single-player, will allow you to leave messages for other players, and an increase to the game’s resource requirements.
