id Software hasn’t “forgotten about” RAGE, says Willits

Tim Willits, studio director at id Software, has said the firm hasn’t forgotten about RAGE. Speaking with GameReactor at E3, Willits said: “We have a few things that we may announce soon, but I’m not sure. We haven’t forgotten about the title, and as soon as we have more news, we will definitely announce it.” As far as whether DOOM 4 is ready to be revealed, Willits would not be drawn in, only stating that if it were, the release of DOOM 3: BFG would be a “great time,” to do it. So, in other words, not yet. DOOM 4 was announced as being in production in May 2008.

Thing is, they should forget about it. It was garbage.

I thought it was brilliant myself. 60 FPS lovely shooter action. The only thing I’d change is head-shots. Just one of those should drop a baddie unless he’s wearing a helmet.

The game was basically a large sandy coloured smear. Fuck knows why the textures look so shit all the time. The game was just pretty shit anyway.

One of my favorite recent FPS. But where’s the damn editor?

I doubt you’ll get one due to the prohibitive virtual texture technology.

For me , that game should have linear progression like normal FPS.
Those coming back to city and driving get as tedious as in Far Cry 2.
